How can I get financial aid for an independent film project in the USA?

I’m trying to independently produce a film in the USA and I would like to know if there is any way of funding it with either governmental or private corporations without having to payback.

Yes there is. You take it to the fans and see if they are on board with your idea through Kickstarter.com or the like…
