Do I have the possibility of getting norovirus?

Asked by cutiepi92 (2252points) December 17th, 2014

And if so, is it possible to prevent it?

Just found out a coworker has stayed home today because she caught it. I’m paranoid now because I helped her move some boxes and whatnot yesterday and was in close proximity.

I don’t have any symptoms, but is it possible for me to do something ahead of time so I won’t catch it? I know it’s apparently contagious before symptoms show…

I know this might sound silly, but I explained a long time ago that I’m emetophobic: can’t stand vomit and whatnot.

Keep your hands clean and keep them away from your face.

Norovirus comes on quickly, usually within 12–24 hours of exposure. If you aren’t puking by tonight you should be out of the pukey woods. haha

Possible? Yes, Likely? No.

I wouldn’t dwell on it.

So @cutiepi92 and @Coloma, we should be past the symptom stage, did either of you get sick?

I’m doing well! I’m assuming it was just food poisoning or something and not the stomach flu
