I love nice, cold watermelon best.

Like a delicious drink you chew, @jca!

Uncle Clyde was in charge of watermelon for our 4th of July celebration, and iced them down in galvanized wash tubs.

My favorite melon type since boyhood has always been ice-cold watermelon (always with a little salt sprinkled on). But recently I discovered a worthy contender for my melon affection—an amazingly sweet cantaloupe variety branded Sugar Kiss. it’s much more expensive than regular ‘loupes” but worth every cent. I can’t begin to tell you how good it is.

Yum, @Pachy!

If I’ve not tried that one, I had another damned good Kiss cantaloupe.

None, I despise all melons.

Watermelon has always been my favorite. Cantaloupe in second. All the others are kinda the same to me.

Yep, watermelon followed by Cantaloupe. I just had am amazing yellow watermelon and now back to the red. I could live on the stuff all summer and make a great fruit salad with watermelon, cantaloupe, red grapes, and mandarin oranges. Mmmm good!
No salt on my watermelon but on my Cantaloupe yes!

Watermelon.

Small and sweet Galia melon is my favourite. Apparently it’s a European cousin of the cantaloupe

@ibstubro, can’t wait to try the watermelon juice recipe. Sounds great.

@dammitjanetfromvegas How do you make watermelon jam?

Since it’s just two of us now, my wife and I have been enjoying those wee tiny watermelons about the size of a cantaloupe They are seedless and they fit in the fridge.

I love Tuscan-style melons – they are extremely fragrant: http://www.dulcinea.com/products/tuscan-style-cantaloupe.html

If I could get the same watermelons out of our patch when I was a kid… That was pure bliss.
