Can someone identify this song?

Funny story: The other day, I was at the library and the guy next to me was listening to a song (with headphones) very loudly, such that I could hear the song. The song sounded rather interesting. Here are some notes that I could pick out (notes are musical notes):

Other info from the song as far as I could tell:

* Song appears to be in one of the following genres: Hip-hop, R&B, Rock and Roll
* Not sure if the song has words, but it is possible
* Song is quite fast paced. The above snippet is probably the refrain or main theme.
* Whole song lasted 3–5 minutes.
* Song sounded like it is from post-1980s, possibly rather recent. Doesn’t sound like anything from before 1980s.
* Unlikely that the song is by Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, or Katy Perry (wrong styles for all three – too fast for the first two and rather dark and not upbeat enough for the third)

Would appreciate any help I could get in identifying this interesting song.

Can you give the rhythm of the sequence of notes? That’d help a lot. I can even record it on my piano to help others.

Sure:

First two lines: G and B are played rather quickly. The middle E is held for a bit longer. Final E and B are also played quickly, as quickly as G and B.

Last line: G and B are played rather quickly. First 3 As are played staccato. Last A is played quickly along with the last two notes.

Edit: As the guy was listening to the song on headphones, it is possible that what I gave is the harmony, and not the melody. Still, the harmony should be useful in identifying the song.
