Will Mike Pence bail out and resign his candidacy as VP as a result of the embarrassing disaster that the Republican Convention is becoming?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33157points) July 20th, 2016

From my TV, it looks like a cluster*** in the making.

Will Pence stay and see it through, or will he bail out and save his reputation?

No. Why would he? The Trump voters don’t care. They are impervious to embarrassment and shame.

As Donald said in January, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters”.

@Call_Me_Jay – Trump probably doesn’t care.

I wondered if Pence had any self-respect and spine.

Nope. He’s all in.
And he knows if Trump is elected, he will probably be impeached, making Pence president.

No.
It’s his Tea Party.
His speaking fees as a speaker went from $10,000 to $100,000+ when he accepted the nomination. Few million for his book if they lose. Untold if they win.
American national politics are a money making machine.

Apparently, attendees of the convention think it’s all going swimmingly.

But for Ted Cruz, @syz!
They tried to heckle him out of the hall.
Cruz is all about 2020, and congratulated Trump on the nomination, but never endorsed it.
“Vote your conscience.”

Pence wants to be VP. If a miracle happens and Trump is elected President then there’s a good chance that Trump will be impeached and removed from office. There are a lot of Democrats and Republicans in Congress that dislike Trump. If he make one bad decision then he’ll be out and Pence will be in.

Cruz is a scary MOFO, even scarier than Trump. Trumps’ only agenda is Trump but Cruz is the potential Christian Taliban Mullah. Welcome to the Fundamentalist paradise. He is likely to make the Spanish Inquisition look look like a Disney World show.

Personally I am hoping for a Republican implosion because without divine intervention Cruz is the upcoming Anti-Christ Presidential nominee.

Sure, @rojo, Cruz sounded rational in his RNC speech, but he can’t maintain that.

Pence is a bit of faux pas himself. He thinks things are great? Why would he be embarrassed? Pence is a racist homophobic science denying cluster fuck himself.

@rojo

You are so right about Cruz being even scarier than Trump and I was so relieved when he had to drop out that I wasn’t looking ahead.

Let’s hope that in the intervening time he does something to tip his hand or shoots himself in the foot somehow.

Most people are blithely unaware of his Dominionist agenda because he pretty much keeps his mouth shut about the gory details. He is a lot smarter than Trump on that score. And that’s the scary part.

@ibstubro Cruz sounded rational in his RNC speech

Rational compared to others on the podium the last few nights.

No, I actually thought Cruz gave a very good speech. If I didn’t think him as low as a tick on a dog’s ass, I would almost say I had a had a higher opinion of him for the speech. He had the balls to _not forgive _ Trump. Publicly.
Cruz bet the farm on 2020. Trump dump.

Rubio endorsing Trump just reinforces my opinion that he’s not Presidential material.

All 3 of the Bushes should have called Trump out for his nasty attacks of Jeb and family.
