What is good software for chopping up mp3 files into separate files?

Asked by Rarebear (25192points) October 18th, 2016

I have a 1.5 hour long show on mp3 with a set list of songs. I would like to break up the file into tracks, so I can easily go to a particular song—but I don’t want to have any pauses in between the files.

Willing to pay if it’s not too expensive, but free is good. I like free.

Thanks. Is it reasonably easy to use? I’m pretty old.

Plenty of kids on youtube that demo exactly what you need to do. It’s also free. I’d link one but I’m on mobile.

@ARE_you_kidding_me Thanks. I’ll do it myself, no need.

Another vote for Audacity. And it has gotten so much more capable in the last several years.

Nero used to have a tool for that.

I really like Audacity too. Can’t go wrong with it. It’s very easy to record with it also.

I also use audacity. The YouTube tip is a good one. If you aren’t sure what to do, the answer will usually be in a video there.

I’ve been looking for a good ripping software myself. I’ll be giving Audacity a try. Thanx jellies.
