How to convert?
Hi, I want to edit mark sheets of my students, compile the numbers and make the report. I am looking for a reliable site where I can convert scanned documents into editable information. Since I am pressed for time I need to do this quickly. Any pointers?

I think that MSWord has a function like that.
I think MS Access has something that will do this. But I have not worked with it for several years.

I’m not sure I understand what you are starting with and what result you want to produce.
You can use a character scanner to read printed text and turn it into a Word .doc or .rtf file, but (a) a scanner is required, (b) you get mixed to poor results with any handwritten content, and (c) even printed text is apt to be misread in places and must be carefully proofread.
If you’re looking for a result that is something like an Excel spreadsheet, I think you’re going to have to construct that yourself.
google yielded several sites for the query “online ocr free,” including this one.
Remember that the good things in life are never free; this goes equally for software.
It might be easier just to manually enter the mark sheets. Or get an intern to do it, if you’ve got them.
I think the @ratboy is onto something.
Don’t most scanner come with some sort of OCR software included? It may not be the best software, depending on your scanner, but if you’re looking for quick you might already have OCR software in your possession.

Warning: What you’re trying to do will probably take as much as typing, in my experience. OCR softwares don’t format the text so all you’ll end up with is a lot of text to copy and paste around manually, and to proofread and correct because OCRs also make a lot of mistakes. Also, it’ll be completely impossible if it’s written by hand.
