I was nineteen, she was seventeen. i finally asked her for a date. she said okay. i went to pick her up at her house. as i walked down her sidewalk, she opened the door. her hair was three shades of green and white. we were going to a semi-formal dance. i was totally shocked at her hair color. remember, this was in the early 60s and dyed hair was not popular. for some reason, i turned around, walked back to my car and left. never saw her again. i later learned that she had been swimming in a pool with chlorine bleach. her hair had been dyed blonde. she attempted to give her hair a permanent and the rest is history. was turning around and walking away a bad thing?
Here is one more. i finally asked this girl for a date, after a two year friendship at school. she was very cute. i arrived to pick her up. it was extremely hot and humid that day. as i shut the car door and proceeded to drive, i began to smell strong BO….body odor. had she forgotten to put on deodorant? i kept the car air conditioner at full blast, in order to avoid as much BO as possible. i made up some lame excuse and took her back home, VERY EARLY. again, was i wrong in this situation? we never dated again and she married my best friend. he has sinus problems, thank the Lord.
