I thought it was clever. I’ll elaborate after classes and napping

A waste of meat. Poor cows

Publicity stunt. Stupid one, at that. I don’t feel like it was unique, creative, or even that it made a statement. Plus, Mark Ryden did it so much better.

I might go as Lady Gaga in the meat dress for Halloween.
@TheOnlyNeffie I love Mark Ryden! Just check out my avatar:)

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

@noelleptc I actually said that as soon as I heard about the dress. I thought of Ryden immediately. I don’t take issue with Gaga, you’re right when you say what she’s doing works. I just can’t help but feel like everything she does is something excessively simple, just done with lots of glitz and shinies. It obviously works. Just irks me.

@Deja_vu oh yeah! I hadn’t noticed that before! I already knew you had good taste, so I can’t say that I’m surprised. :)

I like Lady Gaga more than her music :) Screw her music, she is a marketing mastermind.

@noelleptc I bet Madonna has a Lady Gaga voodoo doll that she stick pins in and curses, cause even I have to admit, Lady Gaga is that good.

Jude's avatar

I cannot stand her, nor her meat dress.

Sorry, faery.

I am so jealous of Madonna’s arms.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I love Gaga but I felt really sorry for Cher when she hugged her in that dress. I would have settled for a handshake!!!

…. I really just learned that it was actually raw meat. I seriously thought that it wasn’t. Now I’m even more perturbed.

Another move in her strategy to gain attention by shocking the world and to gain followers by convincing them that “it’s art.” Sorry, but I can’t stand Lady Gaga and her bubble/Kermit/etc dresses.

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

@noelleptc how is that even legal? Did they do something to seal it?

Deja_vu's avatar

I loved it when Lady Gaga said “I never thought I would ask Cher to hold my meat purse!” in her acceptance speech. I cracked up!

Trillian's avatar

Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga. LADY GAGA. LADY GAGA! YAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!

Cruiser's avatar

It needs to be slapped. ;)

Deja_vu's avatar

@noelleptc Lady Gaga just might be the new Madonna, so I’m sure Lady gaga’s arms will look that vainy when she’s 50.

picante's avatar

Beeffuddling. Herdful to my eyes. Though really, no more harmful to cattle than had she been wearing lots of leather.

Jude's avatar

Original, my arse.

bob_'s avatar

I’m very eh-ish about it.

erichw1504's avatar

Well, it’s not rare for her to do something that crazy!

free_fallin's avatar

The dress was stupid. Her supposed reason for doing it made no sense in context with the dress. She cannot sing. She cannot do anything original. Marilyn Manson was before her. She is talent-less and I await the day when she fades away.

tranquilsea's avatar

My understanding of why she chose the meat dress was to make the point that she was not a piece of meat. For someone who doesn’t like the idea of being objectified she sure goes out of her way to objectify herself.

This is a symptom of the crazy recording/acting business. Talent is less important than what kind of splash you can make. Well, she makes a big splash. I hope she can eventually calm down and just sing so we can all talk about what a brilliant musician she is (maybe).

nailpolishfanatic's avatar

I love LADY GAGA!!!
I am actually thinking of going to one of her concerts here, but its sooo expensive. I love her music too!!! -okay off topic…
I thought the meat dress was something new and cool. I dont mind, no one is gonna blame her for killing the animal, they are always killed and selled anyways.

But I feel sorry for whoever sat next to her at the VMA’s…did the meat smell or no^*?

ucme's avatar

She looks as though she’s ready to be porked!

iamthemob's avatar

I wouldn’t wear it.

CMaz's avatar

Just makes her a bigger skank. And, she has the face of a horse.

erichw1504's avatar

@ChazMaz I think Sarah Jessica Parker looks more like a horse.

CMaz's avatar

Ahhhh true. But a cute, sweet, SLUTTY horse. I like that. ;-)

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

@erichw1504 oh, my husband would love you.

OpryLeigh's avatar

@free_fallin Is she talentless or do you just not like her?

bob_'s avatar

@Leanne1986 Lady Gaga has sold more than 15 million albums and 51 million singles worldwide. I think it’s fair to say she has at least some talent.

OpryLeigh's avatar

@bob_ I agree. It’s very easy to say that someone is talentless when you personally don’t like them which is why I mentioned it.

bob_'s avatar

@Leanne1986 True dat.

Simone_De_Beauvoir's avatar

Eh, just a thing to do to draw attention. Pretty dumb.

erichw1504's avatar

@TheOnlyNeffie Well, tell him I don’t swing that way. ~

You didn’t mention the hat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDu5k3NDYho

What a terrible waste! That meat could have been used to feed a family. Also, it sounds very unsanitary. Everyone knows that contact with raw meat can spread germs if proper hygiene is not followed. She is lucky that she didn’t end up hospitalized.

rooeytoo's avatar

I don’t much care. I just can’t imagine how she could stand the feeling of having that cold slimy and smelly meat all over her. It would have made me nauseous and I do eat meat. But I like it cooked and on my plate, not raw all over me, yukkkkkkkkkkkkk!

But yes, I agree, she is a marketing genius or has one working for her.

I would rather have madonna’s muscular arms than the saggy bat wing version.

deni's avatar

Wait, there was real meat on it? That’s obnoxious. It doesn’t offend me personally or whatever, but it’s clearly for attention. Well, I guess everything she does is for attention. It also sounds gross, probably smelled bad, and is a gigantic waste.

nikipedia's avatar

I don’t think it’s any worse than eating meat for pleasure.

She is another in a long line of artists who find inherent value in being unique and incendiary. She seems to accomplish that pretty well and I give her props for it. Plus I think her music is dope for running.

Would be interesting to see if there’s a correlation between approval of meat dress and enjoyment of her music.

downtide's avatar

Weird and amusing, but I wouldn’t want to eat it after she wore it. :-x

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

@nikipedia just to start that off, I like her music, hate the dress. I also eat meat.

I’m still dying to know if there was some sort of processing done for safety measures.

xxii's avatar

Lady Gaga is certainly very talented. In fact, my primary gripe is that she “wastes” her talent by using shock tactics and sex to publicise herself, instead of her voice, which is very good. To me, that makes her twice as bad as Ke$ha, Katy Perry and all those of their type out there.

Gamrz360's avatar

@Aesthetic_Mess your right poor, poor cows.

OpryLeigh's avatar

@noelleptc I definitely agree that Gaga’s voice is far better than Madonna’s was/is!
