What was your experience with English Composition II?

I plan on taking English Composition II
and the time slots I’m looking at are offered at 11–11:50 daily and 1:15–3:30 on MW or TTH. I’m leaning towards the nondaily class because it better fits with my schedule. But I kind of want to take the daily because I heard English Composition II is a lot harder then Eng. Comp I, but I don’t know. My first quarter classes were daily so I don’t know what to expect with a 2 day a week class. Any advice?

It depends on how you learn best. The fewer times you meet a week, the more you’ll have to do between classes to read and prepare for lectures. If you’re unprepared or space out for one class if it’s daily, no big deal, but each class counts much more if it’s twice a week.

I prefer the twice a week model. You get more into material with more time. I also liked having breaks from classes for a few days.

I don’t see any point in a class of this type meeting daily. Good writing demands that you have some time to think, read, write, and consider before returning to the class. My preference would be once per week; given your choices I’d go with the twice per week. On the other hand, if you were learning a foreign language, daily classes would be wonderful. Constant reinforcement (or preferably immersion) is the best way to learn a foreign language.

I took english comp II on a MW schedule and it was awesome because you have the end of the week and the weekend to really get good material down for Monday. I would say taking the class everday is completely pointless and you would probably hate the class by the end of the class. Aso I see it a plus to go over the same amount of material as the daily class in a week but only have to go for longer sessions twice a week.
