I’m not too thrilled when faced with a serious or difficult situation, and somebody chimes in with, “No worries.”
And I know a lot of people, myself included, that really hate when young waiters and waitresses say, “No problem” when someone asks for something (like ketchup or cream or their change, that should have been there in the first place). It should never have been considered a problem by the waitstaff at all. The better answer that the waitstaff should give is, “Yes, sir/ma’am, I’ll get that for you right away, is there anything else I can get for you?” Said in a polite and sincere manner.
Seeing text-speak in e-mails, blogs and just about anywhere else. It makes me think that everyone is either lazy or illiterate.
Effen this and effen that said around little kids. I don’t like hearing it either, but saying stuff like that around kids is just disgraceful.
Politicians and bosses using the term “transparency” to describe how they will disseminate information to us, knowing full well that they are either lying outright, or keeping pertinent and important information away from us.
Hearing that an abusive or law-breaking actor or actress is going into “rehab” to heal and and rest and deal with their emotional issues. When in reality, it means they’re going into rehab because they’re drunks and druggies and law-breakers and they don’t want to go to jail or prison like the rest of the us would have to for doing the same thing. Mel and Lindsey, you know who you are.
