How could I just skip over the "red" awards and go straight to the "white" ones?

I received the “Cake in the Frizzer” award from Atlantis yesterday, but I haven’t gotten much of the blue ones, or any of the red ones. How could I just skip over them and get awards from Atlantis?
Also, what is the “Cake in the Frizzer” award for?

You can win any award at any time. You need not do it in order.

Also we cannot give away the secret of any awards. Andrew will let his cat Basil torture our pets if we slip up and divulge secrets. ~

@Dog I thought you guys could pm members the results, just not post them on a thread.

My cats could take any other cats in the world!!

Jeez, I’ve never gotten a Cake in the Frizzer award. :-(

What the hell does a girl have to do around here to get a Cake in the Frizzer award? :-)

:) Well privately is another matter entirely. I will give hints… ;)

Actually you can ‘try’ for some of the awards. I recently answered an orphan question in hopes of getting one, but there weren’t enough people paying attention.

Why anyone bothers to pay attention is what baffles me.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@wundayatta Because some of us are just a fascination with our own poo away from being OCD.

wundayatta's avatar

@papayalily Boy, am I getting stupid, or does that image make no sense to others, as well? Don’t worry about saying I’m stupid. I’ve been noticing the change, too.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@wundayatta What image? The being fascinated with your own poo? So, there’s a checklist that they give you to see if you should be further evaluated for OCD. On it are things like “turning keys multiple times”, “repeatedly washing hands”, and “fascinated with own poo”. The poo one is really heavily weighted and counts for more than a lot of the others.

wundayatta's avatar

@papayalily Yes, that image. Thanks for the explanation. Who’d a thunk?

@wundayatta When you play a game like Monopoly, do you just leave the money part out? After all, it is the equivalent of the Fluther awards, isn’t it? Why bother with it?

wundayatta's avatar

@YARNLADY I think lurve is like monopoly money. I don’t think there’s an equivalent in monopoly for awards.

And fluther isn’t really a game, is it?

YARNLADY's avatar

@wundayatta There are many facets to Fluther, one of them is lurve, and another is the awards. They all have their place. I even enjoy the pictures at the top of the pages.

@wundayatta Why anyone bothers to pay attention is what baffles me. Some people are motivated by competition. Some are motivated by collecting. Others are motivated by completing a checklist.
@papayalily So, there’s a checklist that they give you to see if you should be further evaluated for OCD. On it are things like “turning keys multiple times”, “repeatedly washing hands”, and “fascinated with own poo”. The poo one is really heavily weighted and counts for more than a lot of the others. There is a lot more to being diagnosed as OCD than a list of tasks one is obsessed with checking or doing. I’ve turned the car around more than once to check to make sure the iron is off, the door is locked and the garage door is closed. They are just about a piece of mind. After working with someone who was diagnosed with OCD, it takes on a whole new meaning.

@YARNLADY and @wundayatta I don’t equate Lurve or awards to Monopoly. The goal of Monopoly is to competively win. There is no competition on Fluther, as far as I can see; it is self-generated. If a Jelly is motivated by Lurve or awards, they need to, a.) stick around for the long haul, b.) ask well-crafted questions and answers, and/or c.) manipulate the system.

wundayatta's avatar

@Pied_Pfeffer I’m sure you’re right, but I still don’t understand how a checklist could motivate someone. But then, I don’t understand computer gaming, either. Way to go! Make me feel like an old fuddy-duddy.

Pied_Pfeffer's avatar

@wundayatta Many people create checklists and are motivated by that simple tic mark next to it. I’m not one of them, but a friend once admitted that she won’t go to bed until the list is completed, even if the task can wait until the next day. Just like most things, it can be helpful and it can be overdone.

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@Pied_Pfeffer That’s why I said it’s a checklist to see if you should be evaluated further, not a checklist that diagnoses you.

Pied_Pfeffer's avatar

@papayalily Point taken.

If anyone knows how to get the Robot Crush award, could you please PM me with how? It drives me crazy that everyone else seems to think it’s really easy to get. I hate being left out…

Pied_Pfeffer's avatar

@papayalily According to the awards list, the white Robot Crush award has only been issued to 47 people to date. From my understanding, the moderators won’t share what it takes to get it unless you earned it and have no idea why. I’m pretty sure they are sworn to secrecy. :)

MyNewtBoobs's avatar

@Pied_Pfeffer Yeah, but I thought maybe a random jelly might take pity on me.
