No. It’s a terrible expression. If everyone lived every day like it was their last, there would be no stability, critical infrastructure would collapse and it would be generally unpleasant.

The point of the expression is to make you think about the things you take for granted, and to avoid leaving things for a later time that may not come.

I try my best!! I try to love and take care of myself and my husband, daughter, dog and family. I try to stimulate my mind by reading, learning, gardening and playing music every day. It does not hurt that I homeschool my daughter, therefore, I learn something new everday!! My husband and I try at least one new recipe each week, and it is usually from another country.

We say….we live and love to travel. Traveling for us does not just mean seeing. If we think we want to try it….we do….whether that means climbing a mountain, quilting a blanket, surfing or learning to knit…I love my life!!

the problem with that quote is that if you were to spend everyday as if it was your last, no one would ever get anything done! They would spend all day fufilling thier lives dreams! Well, at least I would! And you would also spend all your time saying good bye to people! No, I think that I definitly don’t! Haha

Its a figure of speech, not to be taken so litterally.

The point is to remind yourself of what is important to you. Instill a heathy “death conciousness”, which is a great motivator.

If I knew today was my last day, I wouldn’t have bothered to come to work, and I’d spend the money in the bank account that would otherwise go to cover the April rent check. Both of these decisions would cause serious ramifications in the next week, and as I expect to be alive then, I am not going to spend that money, and here I am at work.

Definitely not. Like it was answered above, there would be no stability in the world, and everyone would be reckless the whole time. I think what the person who said that actually meant was appreciate everything like it was your last day. Tell the people you love that you love them, don’t be too busy and wrapped up in your life to notice the beautiful things going on around you right now.
