I recently heard this term. It was applied to the stock market. I google searched it, and it seems to be a poker reference as well. I am not sure how it is applied in either or what would be an example.

In poker, a freeze out is when you buy in for a fixed amount of money, and when you have lost your initial stake you are done; you can’t buy more chips.

I don’t remember hearing this used around the stock market. Nor can I see how it applies.
