Felix is a very common first name for men (#259 out of 1220)
It is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Felix is “happy, fortunate”. Biblical: Roman procurator of Judea during Paul’s time, a wily politician. The name of three popes and numerous saints. Feliciano is a Spanish and Italian form. Linked in America with cartoon character Felix the Cat, and Felix Unger from “The Odd Couple”. American physicist Felix Bloch. http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/1/Felix
It’s a bit old-fashioned and usually thought of as a cat’s name, but I have a friend called Felix (he’s in his late 50s, if that’s at all significant).
I’m in Mexico for now and Felix is a very common name. It sounds pretty good in Spanish. I didn’t think of a cat when I read the question. I thought of one of the engineers down here.
@crazyivan That’s sort of true. Most of the Spanish I know is from Ill Niño (a band), and that band also has some of the most beautiful lyrics I’ve ever heard.
