I am surprised that only @ratboy got this one right, though @iamthemob came close.
However, it should be pointed out that the Verizon deal involves a wifi-only iPad and uses the Mifi for actual internet access. The Verizon iPad does not use 3G the way the AT&T ones do; the mifi allows nearby wifi devices to access the 3G network.
Of course, @BarnacleBill points out another way to do it. I already have wifi at home and much of Seattle is covered, so I could access the ‘net on my old iPod Touch in most places. If you life in a similar situation (ie, in a big city) then you should have no real problems with a wifi-only iPad.
