A $6.00 carbide bit from home depot should do the trick. I would tap a start point with a nail to prevent drifting of the bit. Just let the bit do the work with firm steady pressure and don’t over heat the tip. 2” is pretty deep and I would go a ¼”-½” at a time to avoid burning up the bit! Hammer drills help but you are only doing one hole so a regular drill should work just use the slower speed versus all out high RPMS.
@lucillelucillelucille You curse me every time we play golf and I win so I am used to it!
Will the hole need a perfect hole edge?? If so look into starting the hole with a glass cutting drill bit, they will give you the best edge and tape down duct tape and drill through that for as perfect an edge as you can get. Remember slow and easy! ;)
