What does it mean to dream of your crush's girlfriend?

I know that sounds pretty bad, to like someone who is dating someone else. But I would never do anything with him, not while he is with her. Its just hes been my friend for such a long time, and we click well, and I really truly deeply care about him more then a friend. But these past two nights Ive been having dreams about his girlfriend, they werent neccessarily bad, but not good either. In the most recent one, she was asking me why I dont talk to her, why I keep my distance. She told me she knew how I felt, but did not want this to turn into a situation she had with her friend in the past. I told her that I just want to keep the peace, Ive moved to a different city. Im gone, I just want to keep in contact with him, and then the dream became a blur. I fully believe in karma, and do onto others as you would want them to do onto you, so I dont really know what this dream means. The guy I like has been in the dreams, but they are usually taken over by her. Any ideas? Its bugging me, so if anyone knows please let me know!

Welcome to Fluther! Don’t worry about the dream. They are made up of people, places, and things that we have experienced, and some that we haven’t. The mind seems to be a scrambled dumping ground during sleep. Otherswise, I’d be after Katie Holmes’ spot by Tom Cruise’s side, which is just an icky thought.

Karma, while I don’t buy into it, holds more valid statistical data that supports it than any dream-supported information that I’ve read or experienced.

It most likely means you want to have a threesome with them.

I think you gave the response in your own explanation “this sounds pretty bad”. A sense of guilt.

It’s not “bad”, you can’t control who you fall for, or what the situation is when you do. It’s perfectly fine. The question is how do you deal with it?

How I usually deal with crushes on people who are taken. Express it in a form of non-threatening compliment. Clear, but non-possessive. And then let it be. I don’t like to stress a relationship. But I think the person deserves to know, and it can be helpful given they also have a more mature way of dealing with it. Then, I shift my gaze to other things and people. I did my part, was honest—put some effort into not being possessive or attached. Let it become what it will :)

It is your guilt about having feelings for someone else’s boyfriend. Forget him. Move on with your life. Don’t contact him.

Dreams are completely meaningless. This one included.

The characters in your dreams are aspects of yourself. The crush is a part of you that you like. The girlfriend is a kind of opposing power in your personality. You are most likely undergoing some kind of internal struggle that has to do with your future or your identity. Are you making plans for a major change?
