Very carefully. First you have spread the butter on making your get a little bit in each square, The you pour on the maple syrup (if you have REAL maple syrup you’re golden) you also need to make sure each hole is filled at least half way up. Then you need to use a butter knife (you can use the same one you used to spread the butter) to cut the waffle into bite sized squares. You need to be very care to cut to only cut on the outside edges of the squares. You don’t wanna cut and squares in half a risk losing valuable syrup.
