If you were looking for a therapist how would you find them? Which search engines would you use, which websites would you go to?

Would you google, open a phone book? How would you go about finding the help you need?

I would ask for advice from my general practitioner. The Internet sucks for some things. Medical advice is on the top of that list.

Like johnpowell, I’d ask people I trust rather than use the internet.

I would talk to my general practitioner and I’d look to see which ones my insurance company would pay for. In particular, my insurance company maintains a directory showing what each therapist specializes in and any other potentially relevant attributes (gay/lesbian, substance abuse counselor, couples therapy, etc.)

With your screen name, are you asking because you’re looking for a therapist, or because you’re a therapist who’s thinking about advertising?

You accidentally said “the” twice in your username.
