“Great Question” (2points)

How can I tap into the subconscious mind of others?
What techniques are involved in it?
Is it related to NLP?
Are their any books that can teach us this skill?
Any video-courses available?
Do you believe in what Derren Brown does in his YouTube videos?

Derren Brown is a mentalist, which is a kind of stage magic that specializes in cold reading.
Here is Derren Brown explaining the technique.

Perfect link. Great ansawer, @Rarebear.

I would just add that in the MRI research that’s been going on recently with highly accurate images of brain activity, we don’t really find a subconscious and a conscious mind. What we have in the past labeled as the work of the subconscious (dreams, religious ecstasy, etc.) all seem to arise from the same miind we are using when we read a book or walk down the street.

Hypnosis.

I love hypnosis, have used it to break a smoking habit, for relaxation, and for subliminal motivational suggestion.

It works!

An AMA ( American Medical Assc. ) credentialed hypnotherapist has the most training and is the best choice.

The best way of all is deep Zen Meditation. The science studies are just starting to investigate and though they will not have time to discover a whole lot it is about time they spent more effort on the subject.

@Coloma How to do this self-motivational hypnosis?
And how to do this on others?
Can I do this without letting them know that I am hypnotising them or making it too obvious for them?

gamefu91's avatar

@Summum What is Zen meditation? How to do this? How is it different from others? never heard of this before.

@gamefu91

You need to take hypnotherapy classes and get your certification.

Your subjects have to be willing, you can’t unwittingly put someone in a trance without their knowledge because you have to prep them with deep relaxation techniques first.

Once you have either had training or been the subject of hypnosis you will be able to put yourself in a trance.

To this day when I see the color red I think ’ clean air’...one of the hypnotic suggestions presented to my sub-conscious during the stop smoking therapy. ;-)

@Summum

Zen meditation is an exercise in stilling the mind.

Look up ‘meditative practices of Zen Buddhism.’ :-)

@Coloma

Yes I am aware of that and I am getting my license in hypnotherapy. I will have my license this spring.

Hypnosis, but beware: half the stuff you read about it on the internet may not be completely correct. Even the notion of a subconscious mind is still being debated.

I have read about some neat things that have been done with it, including the intentional creation and destruction of mental conditions such as synesthesia and conversion disorders [when a person believes (and acts like) they are either blind, deaf, etc., while in reality they can still see, hear, etc.], both of which occur in real life.

Not only is the notion of the subconscious of questionable validity or utility but so is the notion of Mind as something separate or distinct from the Body.

Our cognitive and emotional behaviours are functions of the brain, all things we can observe and study.

There is a spiritual body in our mortal body that is called by some the subconscious. It is the body we are in while we dream and the one that will survive a mortal death.

Good for you!
My response was intended for @gamefu91 question directed at you, whoops! ;-)

@Coloma @Summum I don’t think i can get some hypnotherapy around my place neither do i believe anyone to let him play with my subconscious.let me know if you can tell me some techniques or any online resources regarding hypnosis (specially self-hypnosis).
