I actually DVR and watch this show. I don’t think the show makes her less of a leader. What makes her less able to be President is she seems to not understand the complexity in geopolitics around the world, and out of touch with how people live in other parts of the country. If she does have a strong understanding of those things, she has not conveyed it well. She does not seem very smart to me, but I do not think she is stupid. I also think she is a good mom, has a sense of humor, a lot of energy, and a strong work ethic, even though she quit her job as governor. Quitting did not display a work ethic to me, but a lack of loyalty, and some selfishness.
I think the people who like(d) her continue to like her. I can’t imagine any of the people who think she is incompetent for high office will ever come around to liking her. She does absolutely nothing to demonstrate understanding of current international issues, or interest. That is my biggest gripe with her. She also of course is very far to the right on abortion, I honestly have no idea where she stands on gay marriage and other social issues. On the issue of abstinence, I saw her in an interview with her daughter, and she was actually rather realistic. Much more than you would expect.
I actually can empathize with people who live in the wilderness, basically of the land, and don’t see their federal tax dollars as tangibly as people in populated, congested areas of the country. What I think they really miss, is ironically those same people are the ones who think and need to believe the US is a powerful country and always will be. Many believe it to a religious hilt, like God will always be in charge, and so will the US always be the greatest nation, but one of the contributing factors to making us great was how innovative we were, industrialization, and rule of law. If we don’t put significant tax dollars towards scienctific research and development (innovation), and maintain our country to support the population, we will lose our edge in the world.
