@partyparty I don’t so much avoid them honey, as I had to cut them out of my life after around 30 years of being “friends”. I know that if I was in their company they would act the way they always had, and so would I, and I’d be right back to being an idiot who lets people steal from me and generally con me again. I was raised to believe that if you weren’t willing to share, you didn’t deserve to have those things to start with, which till my grave I will always believe, but I ended up being friends with a few people who, no matter how much you would give, always wanted more from you, even if they had to steal it. It’s not a healthy situation to live in. It wears a person down. I have to accept that I am a person users will always use, but I do have the comfort that these people, while they do exist (such as my ex friends), they are a tiny, tiny, tiny minority. The vast majority of people I have met are lovely. I said elsewhere on fluther recently that even some “nippy sweeties” I have met through work or whatever, if given the chance, do turn out to be more sweetie than nippy.
huggles always honey xx
@shpadoinkle_sue that’s simply not true honey, you are a lovely, sweet, interesting person and I always look forward to seeing your posts, you couldn’t make anyone miserable if you put your whole heart and soul into the endeavor, you’re far too friendly, affectionate and downright lovely a person. <hugs tightly> xx
