I was wondering what this is because my surgeon said he was doing a surgery on me, but never explained what type (I’m in the military, this happens more than not). I’m not having problems or anything, but I just want to know what was done to me.

Debridement means to remove dead, contaminated or adherent tissue or foreign material. I have no idea what ‘groove’ pertains to.

You’re not having any problems but they’re doing surgery?

Moegitto's avatar

@Judi Already had surgery. I mean complications FROM the surgery. You know, like side effects.

The Peroneal tendon (one of the tendons in your ankle) sits in a ‘Groove’.
There’s also a Trochlear Groove (which is part of the knee-cap) so I think we’re fairly safe to assume it is a part/area of your ankle.
And you’ve had some dead/contaminated tissue removed from this area.

Does that help or make any sense?
