How to back up an IMAC G5?

I have an IMAC G5,1 running tiger. My hard drive is failing. Whats the easiest way to back up that hard drive to an external? What kind of hard drive should i get? Do the hard drives come preloaded with OSX?

Carbon Copy Cloner..

No, the drives don’t come preloaded with OS X. Get one big enough for your system.
