I have a new Mac running Snow Leopard. I am looking for a decent, and FREE, font management program. Can you make a recommendation?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, you can have decent, or free, but not both. Apple’s own free Font Book is adequate for a small number of fonts in a non-professional environment. But a full-featured management tool costs $79. I recommend Linotype’s Fontexplorer. You can use it free for 30 days.
