I like bagged decaf green tea. You can’t go too wrong—I’ve had one that tasted godawful, but most brands are good that I’ve found. (I’d avoid The Mighty Leaf… which is sad since the name’s fun)
The generic at Safeway (yeah, well, it’s where I am) and Whole Foods is good. I also like Lipton’s and Bigelow’s for the cheaper-of-the-middle end. Tazo’s Chinese Green Tips (Starbucks, and don’t steep too long) and Whole Foods Allegro (especially) are good but more expensive. I’ve had other brands that I can’t remember the name of. I usually just get what’s on sale, though, so I don’t know all the high-end pricey stuff that well. ; ]
I like green tea because it’s got a really nice, clean taste when I’ve got the water the right temperature and it’s steeped the right amount of time. When I don’t, I think the taste tastes.. scattered? I’m kinda picky on tea though so maybe it’s just me.
If you can find it, Republic of Tea’s Honeysuckle White Tea is superb. It’s a delicate but yummy flavor. I’ve been in search of it ever since I had it at a coffee shop once. So if you find it, you’re luckier than me!
