“Great Question” (1points)

I am 18 years old but for some reason I look alot older. I am 5’9” and rather shy. How can I get the part of a 14–18 year old in a musical? (The musical is Big River and the part I am looking at is Mary Jane Wilkes)

[edit] sorry I read the question wrong. You should go without make-up.

I think that a lot of looking a certain age has to do with style. Dressing and wearing your hair in a trend that is popular among people younger than you can shave a bit off of your looks. Also, little or no makeup, as @lemming suggested.

People associate heights with age, the older you get typically the taller you are. Your description of yourself is almost identical to mine. For whatever reason people assume I am older then my actual age aswell.

If you want to “look younger” pay more atention to your skin care, keep it glowy and youthful.

Smile a LOT!

A happy constitution lights up everyones face, no matter what your chronological age.

Stay away from harsh make up, and don’t worry about what you can’t really change.

Who knows, maybe you have just reached a plateau and you will look your age now til you’re 45. lol

I wear skirts and tights and mary-jane shoes and people think I’m 16 (I’m 22). Oh also a headband with a bow on it.

Tights (preferably white or in a pastel color) with a plaid kilt style skirt like this with flat mary jane or patent leather buckle shoes or ballet flats like these and a button up sweater over a blouse.

If you have shoulder length or longer hair, you can roll up 2 pony tails or braids on each side of your head (not sure what that style is called, but I kind of think of Heidi when I see it) and secure them with hair pins and it’s very cute. Otherwise, if you have short or long hair, definitely wear a hair band like this Or you can put your hair in one long hanging braid and put a little bow in it. You can also wear a barrette or a hair pin with a lady bug or a butterfly on it.

Carry a Hello Kitty purse or tiny backpack.

Wear either gold stud or pearl stud earrings, or tiny little dangling hearts or butterflies.

If you wear makeup, only wear a little bit of mascara to accentuate your eyes, but wear lip gloss and not lipstick. Cut your fingernails short and paint them pale pink or leave them un-painted.

@Kardamom

I think the ‘Hello Kitty’ purse might be overkill. haha
A doorman in Taiwan last year had a pink ‘Hello Kitty’ phone, cracked me up!
Every time I came down to the lobby from the elevator he was talking on his HK phone.

@Coloma Wow! I didn’t even know they had Hello Kitty Phones! I actually prefer Hello Kitty’s little bunny friend My Melody. So cute.

But I did see a Hello Kitty toaster oven at a Japanese store that I am secretly coveting.
