I’m not sure of the difference between intuition and ego-based thoughts, so I tend to disregard it if it’s to do with something regarding my own self-interest. I don’t know how to trust it.
The only time I knew intuition for what it was and believed it was in December ‘99. After she came home from church one Sunday, my surrogate mom was changing to her casual clothes. I offered to help her cook dinner and was declined. There was a brief pause, then she said, “I’m so tired.” Ad in that moment I heard my intuition say She’s going to be dead by May. It stopped me in my tracks because I knew it was a fact, as if someone said, “The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second.” I’ll never forget that feeling. It was only later when I started freaking out. A couple of weeks after that, she was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer and indeed died the following May.
