A man in a dress…a comic convention with a lot of miles on it.

Some Like it Hot, Monte Python, Bosom Buddies, Tootsie, Mrs. Doubtfire, and the latest “Momma” series of movies…

It seems that a man in a dress is always funny.

So I’m wondering what other comic tropes rival that one for durability. What’s as dependably funny as a man in a dress?

I think men in wigs are funnier than anything they put on their bodies. I have a half-black friend who was a woman this year for Halloween and it was the funniest looking thing ever. He looked exactly like a woman (with very manly features, which is why I think it’s so funny), but it was all due to his makeup and wig.

I guess the great thing about a man in a dress – or more generally about a man imitating a woman – is that you can build a story around it.

Pratfalls and rubber chickens can be funny indeed. but they don’t have “legs”.

I dressed my ex husband up for a cross dressing Halloween party once and he won ‘best legs.’ Hahaha

Yep, size 11 pumps with black fishnet stockings, short shorts, a halter top stuffed with giant balloon boobs and a long, curly wig and earrings.

He was stressed out because he swore other men were staring at his legs. Obviously they were because he won the best legs award. lol

A well timed pie in the face is always pretty darn funny! And then a woman dressed to the 9’s with her pantyhose constantly falling down around her knees is pretty hilarious. And the best ever is the guy attempting to exit the restaurant via the walk in freezer door is a belly laugh every time! ;)
