Some people are offended by anything that is out of the norm (compared to what they’re used to, I mean), but it seems like when it comes to gender-based norms, objections are even more common and vehement. Just an observation.
Personally, I like it when people dress in interesting ways, especially when there’s an element of gender-bending or nonconformity. Anyway, I think kilts are pretty cool, ditto for sarongs. I must say, a guy wearing a regular skirt would surprise me, but I’d still think it was pretty awesome.
Come to think of it, there was a guy in my HS who wore a skirt fairly often and it seemed pretty normal after the first time or two that I saw him. I admired him for doing what he wanted. Also, in college one of my close male friends also wore skirts sometimes, and it seemed so normal that I completely forgot about it until just now!
Skirts can be really comfy and look nice, so I say people should do what they want.
