PC or Itunes is nor recognising ipod?

When I plug the ipod in it charges but it doesn’t show up in my computers or Itunes, how can I fix this?

Update iTunes, maker sure the connector is plugged in all the way. It iTunes started when you plug it in?

Reset the iPod (if it is a click wheel) by holding the center and menu buttons down for a few seconds when it’s plugged in.

Are you using windows 7? In which case you should try running itunes in compatabilty mode for Vista service pack 2.
