How would your life be different if Fluther just suddenly closed up shop?

If Fluther just all of a sudden up and disappeared, how would your life be different? Would you still keep in touch with some jellies through another social network? Who would you utilize to bounce questions off of? What other ways would you start using as time-wasters?

I would probably sit in a dark corner and rock back and forth.

It wouldn’t.

I’d get my schoolwork done a lot faster.

I would find out about this “Out-Doors” that everyone is hinting at… but I wouldn’t like it and I would sleep even more than my usual 16–21 hours a day

I, too, have heard of this “out-doors” place. I may look into that or actually clean my house.

@chand @talljasperman I hear it looks like the windows XP background, not sure though.

Well, I’d be unemployed… and that would suck. Besides that, I’d miss it terribly. I would definitely keep in touch with several jellies via facebook and email. I don’t actually ask a lot of questions, so I’d probably be ok with that aspect, but I’d really miss invigorating discussion and learning about things beyond my normal interests. I might have to take a class or two, just to keep up the mental stimulation. :)

Well, I hope I would do more reading, but probably I would head on over to another site I’m active on and spend more time there. I think there are maybe one or two jellies I would keep in touch with. I think I have email addresses for half a dozen, but most of them don’t correspond with me and haven’t for a year or more, so I doubt that would change if fluther went down.

Well I’d keep in touch with the people I met here and became friends with. Not sure my life would change much at all, although, while I’m not on often these days, I’d be fucked out of somewhere fun to go online. :/

shpadoinkle_sue's avatar

That’d suck. I hate wandering aimlessly through the internet looking for answers. It’s a really fun place to hang out and talk with a ton of awesome people. this is the only social networking kind of thing that I’ve ever felt a connection to.

I would get a lot more done. :-) I would miss fluther though… so many lovely, funny, open-minded and very intelligent people here. It is rare to find such a combination anywhere and frankly, especially online!

Vunessuh's avatar

I would do the dishes I hid in the oven.

woodcutter's avatar

The oven! I never thought of that!

augustlan's avatar

I have totally done that.

Bellatrix's avatar

I am shocked and stunned… and will also keep this sneakly little trick in mind for future use :-) Thank you @Vunessuh

I don’t have alternative means of contact for any Jellies so I would probably lose touch with you all. :’-(

After the panic attack, I’d spend endless hours with Katawagrey talking about the good ol’ days of Fluther. Then I’d panic some more, put a Dr J flag on my car and drive all over waiting for someone to recognize him, stop my car and give me advice.

seazen_'s avatar

Calling Ryan (JP or whatever his handle is now…)

He has an alternative for us… now worries, mate.

I would be sad.

I would beg the boys to give it to @Augustlan (I never understood why wis.dm preferred to trash it instead of offering it to the users)

I would beg everyone to put a couple bucks in the hat to keep it going.

If that did not work I would be forced to keep in touch via facebook (shudder)

Then I would get more work done.

I would get real good at playing my harmonica and send smoke signals to lucille. ;)

incendiary_dan's avatar

I have a couple of Fluther friends on my Facebook. Otherwise I’d mourn the loss and spend more time on other internet sites that the work computer doesn’t block.

I would get alot more done! XD
@Cruiser I’d answer you back with a kazoo! :)

seazen_'s avatar

Right – there’s facebook. We could all friend each other and play Fluther: The Bored Game

seazen_'s avatar

I meant bored.

I would desperately miss a lot of people here. I’d also miss leaving comments that have others either scratching their heads in confusion, or calling the local loony bin to check on escaped psych patients.
