Yes. There was a very hot thread a while back when I was still a newbie Mod.. like, thread on fire! Flame-throwers and Molotov cocktails on fire! People were going at each other on this thread in real time and I was the only Mod around. Talk about stressful… phew!
So, I just dove in there and started pulling posts. The immediate goal was to put out the fire and to get things calmed down and reasonable. It took me like an hour or something, but I finally got things under control.
I had had to step in and post several ’Mod Says’ in the thread, so those participating knew I was the guilty party in terms of the moderating. I received a PM from a user regarding his post, which he felt was unfairly pulled. He presented his case, I saw that he was correct, and I reinstated the post with my apologies. I think that I am extremely fair and I feel like, no matter what, my sense of fairness can be appealed to.
I don’t hold on to that kind of thing, so I don’t remember what thread or user and can’t offer any concrete examples.
