Last Thursday, I bought a pink hyacinth for spring, thinking of the poem:

“If of thy mortal goods thou art bereft,
And from thy slender store

Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.”

My hyacinth is blooming now, and it perfumes the room, and my soul is uplifted whenever I pass by it.

I love the smell of hyacinths and oriental lilies like Stargazer and Casablanca.
