We’ve had the opportunity to have our dream vacation twice in the last 20 years. One year, the entire family stayed at a beach hotel, in three or four apartment-like rooms. We have the choice to do things together, or go to various attractions separately. It was a wonderful gift from our In Laws and costs roughly the same as an anniversary cruise would have.
Another time, the gift was a huge, 5 bedroom condo on the shore of Lake Tahoe, right next to the pool and spa. The layout was perfect, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths on the main floor, with a large livingroom, a full size dining room, and a pullman style kitchen with a breakfast nook. There were 2 bedrooms, 1 bath on the second floor, along with a large loft-type balcony, and one bedroom, 1 bath on the third floor.
We got an unexpected discount when the water had to be shut off due to a water main break in the street. It only lasted a few hours, and we received a 20% discount on the rental.
