No, you didn’t at all. Some people just have a different idea of what that means, even Wikipedia (the all-knowing -jk).
I have a lot that I like, but for now I will name three:
1. Harry Haller of Steppenwolf – to me he is the perfect portrayal (or misconception) of
man as being comprised of the two opposing states of good and bad.
2. Uncle Oswald of My Uncle Oswald or Switch Bitch -though slightly narcissistic, this guy is just an amazing character with the best ideas and most discriminating tastes, almost like an alter ego for Dahl.
3. Ignatius J. Reilly from Confederacy of Dunces- All I can say is read the book if you haven’t. If you have then I think you will know what I mean when I say he needs no explanation.
