@radcliff I would think you can just fix the wire if that is the prolem. When an odometer stopped working on one of our cars it was the odometer itself that was not working. It was a very old car though, not a digital odometer.
It is illegal to disconnect an odometer I think, so I would go ahead and get it fixed. But, that’s me. I tend to be a rule follower.
I think my answer is the same. Either the speedometer thingy is broken, or a wire. Maybe a fuse? But I think if it were a fuse other things wouldn’t be working.
Many if not most speedometers are actuated by a cable that is attached to the transmission. This cable breaks often enough that any decent repair shop should have spares. If the cable breaks then both speedo and odometer will stop working. Check the cable before you go messing with the instrument cluster. With luck you won’t have to disassemble the dash, but no guarantees.
