We’re in for a new refrigerator, since the cost of repair is equal to half of what we paid for this one in the first place about 13 years ago.

I don’t watch TV, don’t listen to commercial radio, don’t pay attention to newspaper inserts, etc., so I have no idea if there’s a seasonality to appliance sales as there is with some other big items, such as furniture and cars.

Can you advise me when is the best time to shop for large appliances? As long as the old unit doesn’t flat break down on us, I’d like to wait for sale season if we can.

I’ll also gladly entertain any advice on models and brands.

I hate stuff like this.
