Is it possible to mute a friend on Facebook so other people cannot read her comments on my site?

“Great Question” (4points)

I have looked at this “help page” on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=14863 but it does not answer my specific concern about making her invisible to visitors. Thanks.

Isn’t there a ‘remove from profile’ button beside everything they say?

Ya I just checked, I’m pretty sure if you press the x on the right of what they said it dissappears.

So do I have to click on every comment they make to erase it, or can I just click “mute user” somewhere, and be done with it. I don’t want to have to constantly be cleaning up my page because of her agenda, but I also don’t want to delete her.

Sorry, I don’t know that, but I’m sure someone else will…hopefully…

If you block her she won’t be able to see or comment on your page at all. I think that is the only way to do it “globally” without deleting each post individually.

You can hide her comments, which means they will not be visible. Is this person truly a friend or should you unfriend her?

You can disallow her to post on your page. Its under privacy settings.

@marinelife That means that they’re not visible to this user, but they are to everyone else.

You can also make filters, including one without her in it. When you post stuff that will give your “friend” a hissy fit, make sure you post them using the filter that leaves her out.

This should help:

Or, when posting, use the “edit settings” to simply exempt her from any post you make.

I’m pretty sure that when someone else posts on your profile you cannot only choose the option to hide their post, but you can also (under the same pull-down menu) choose to hide all of their posts. Or, if they’re driving you crazy with their exploits on Farmville, you can choose to hide all posts by Farmville. Check it out…this should work.

Yes, you can make it so she can’t see your posts, and will be less likely to comment. And it’s possible to disable your wall, and might be possible to disable it just for her?

Actually I rarely say anything on Facebook. I mostly use it to PM people privately, or use the chat function, or to play games. I have nothing to say that would give her a hissy fit, but I don’t want my grandchildren and others to see what she’s posting (some people would call it extremist). I do not mind reading what she says, and it helps that I understand what she’s doing so I can relate to her better.

If someone truly understands now what I want to do, I will need a step-by-step instruction of how to do it, or I won’t be able to pull it off.

Thanks to all.

Again, hiding things only works for you seeing it. Everyone else can still see it.

Go to privacy settings, @snowberry, and then “customize.” You should be able to find everything you need there to keep people where you want them. :)
