“Life is a dream… What’s fake in a dream- and what’s real!?” (translated from an old Hindi song “Zindagi Khwaab Hai”)
Illusionary theories are just a figment of our imagination. We all like to think “what if”. We are creative beings after all! Whether it is the simulation/virtual reality in Matrix, or very lucid dreams in Inception or any other alternate reality concepts(whether in stories, movies or in quantum theory) are all created by the endless imaginative power of the human mind!
If we assume that the world is an illusion, then everything we experience in it is an illusion too! Whether it is feeling inspired or depressed, feeling satisfied or hungry. The world that we live in has so many complex things. The sheer number of living things, the variety of strong emotions that we feel, our memory, our creative power, the ability to dream. So, how’s hunger unique? If someone/something could build so many complex things in this illusion, then ‘creating’ hunger wouldn’t be much of task, right?
Interpreting the “world is an illusion” in real life (i.e. out of fiction) might be helpful, perhaps, only to pursue spiritual interests. “There may be other higher dimensions where the supernatural and metaphysical exists- The Kingdom of Souls or something. Where there is eternal peace and joy and all are one and all there is is nothing” (its sounds like the singularity before the Big Bang).
But really, what we need to think is ”Life is real and a gift, I am lucky to be alive, I am a miracle, a living being created out of non-living elements.” So, take delight in a number of awesome “worldly” things. Real world is more miraculous than any fiction/theories! Celebrate life!
