“Pretty cool?” Those are exquisite!

I can’t narrow it down to just one. I’ve never seen anything on lookinart.net that didn’t blow me away.

Her water colors are amazing. I commissioned a piece and still gaze at it in awe.

My mother. She passed on March 30, 2011. As I was cleaning out her house of family pictures and her paintings, I discovered one of her paintings was really great. I know there will be a family feud over this one painting and I am willing to fight for it.

Back in the 70s, I was occupied by my job day and night. My mother did some of her best paintings during that time. Some of her paintings were hidden everywhere in her house. She was really a great artist. As her health began to fade, I could see it in her more current paintings in the 90s.

During her estate sale, one man bought all of her paintings. I was amazed.

She is now painting her best piece ever, The Golden Gates to Heaven. She is waiting for me to join her…......one day.

I came across Esao Andrews recently and really like his work

This guy throws down some serious slide blues on a 3 string cigar box guitar, not to mention the guitars themselves are pretty impressive works of art.

My friend R’s artwork is always interesting to me.
He makes raku sculptures with metal components.

Alyssa Monks is nice.
So is Dino Valls.
Deviants might prefer this.

I met Lukas Rittstein and his wife Barbara (who is gifted photographer and her pics are on display in the photo gallery) when they were starving artists sent here by the Government of the Czech Republic to do research on our materials as they were “commissioned” to help rebuild the Prague Zoo which was wiped off the face of the earth by a devastating flood many years ago.

It was interesting to see the impact our product made on his art work as he now marries the abstract with the organic element of nature.

Lyric Kinard’s work. She uses fabric as a medium for art. It’s not quite quilting. You should look at her blog at http://lyrickinard.blogspot.com/. Apparently there’s a whole community of people who do this!

You can’t go wrong with Leonetto Cappiello. I love his art.

After Summer (1968) by Anthony Caro. It’s on the roof of The Metropolitan Museum of Art currently. It feels like the ocean.

I came across this blog by artist Oriana Kacicek a while back and love her paintings.

This guy is my all-time favorite artist though. He’s so talented, really cute, and great in bed. OK, OK, he’s my husband! He only recently started painting fine art (as opposed to murals for clients) and had his first gallery show not long ago. So I might be a little biased.

Oh @MissAustin! I wish you were closer! I need some concrete countertops and I’m doing some sort of faux stone curved mantle. I need an artist like your sweetie!! Alas, I’m in California. :-(

Louise Hawson is publishing a most amazing photo book on the suburbs of Sydney Australia, called 52 Suburbs. Have a look at some of the specific suburbs listed on the left of the page. What makes it unique to me is the art she created from the photos. She takes 2 photos of completely unrelated subjects but which have similar design aspects and/or colors and blends them. It is lovely to look at.

I must admit I like art that makes me feel good inside. Much of what is linked above shows amazing technical ability and creativity on the part of the artist, but really doesn’t make my heart sing. I know, I am probably narrow minded and shallow, sorry!
