Is it still worth to go to a Prince concert?

“Great Question” (2points)

Prince will come to the Netherlands in July and give some concerts.
I’ve been to watch him in the end of the eighties and it was a fabulous experience.
My question: Anybody here who saw him some twenty – twenty five years ago and again recently?
Was it still as funky now as it was then?
I wouldn’t be bothered giving it an extra thought if I had money as water, but I don’t have so the 115 – 130 dollars are a big deal for me and I don’t want to feel it a waste.
So, any Prince fans around?!

He did the half-time show at the superbowl in 2007. I’m not sure if that is a good metric but you might want to youtube for recent performances.

FUCK YEAH!. I just saw him 2 weekends ago. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to.

@johnpowell I am going to watch that link, thank you!
@tinyfaery Okay, that does it for me, i am going!!
@all I don’t need more persuasion, i’ll go if the tickets are not sold out, but other experiences are welcome!

If you are a fan of Prince then yes it would be worth it. You won’t know how good the show will be until you see it.

I saw him in concert last month, and he was great! He’s still itty-bitty, dancing around in high heels, and wailing on the guitar. He’s a very charismatic performer – probably one of the best shows that I’ve seen in a while. (Oh, and don’t be in a hurry to leave. About 20 minutes after the house lights came up, when at least ¾s of the audience had left, he and the musicians came back out and jammed for another 45 minutes. I got right up against his piano [that he was dancing on top of] – it was stellar!)

OH EMM GEE YES!

I went in January. That little middle-aged man put on a show that kids half his age don’t have the energy for.

And he has great opening acts, too.

I saw Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.
One pal saw him in December with Cee-Lo (yes, they sang Crazy together).
Another friend saw him in February with Sheila E.

Go go go!
Yes yes yes!

You won’t regret it.

My 2 cents is I have always thought Prince the consummate performer and an excellent guitarist and songwriter. He is probably at or near his prime and there will be some stellar backup singer no doubt that will make the show worthwhile nonetheless!

Did you know it’s his birthday today? He’s 53. teehee

I would go and pay a high price for a ticket.
Prince is timeless.
The performer that keeps on giving.
Like @johnpowell said. Check out the Superbowl video.

I don’t think it was ever worth it.

@rts486 Fair enough, to each its own.
@jonsblond , @lucillelucillelucille and @josie If i had money and you lived in Holland you’ld be welcome to join me, as well as all Jellies who like him. Thanks again!

Yes if you love his music. And, I think it’s really worth it if you are going for the first time.
