Do you think lurve attracts ebay types who like to build up positive feedback?

Lurve reminds me of the feedback score on ebay. Do you think that there are maybe a disproportionate number of 100% Positive Feedback ebay users among the fluther ranks who are attracted to another shiny number badge?

I believe I am an example of this phenomenon.

I’m not really one to do Ebay, but on the rare occasion that I do I would be crushed to receive a negative feedback.
So I don’t know if it necessarily applies specifically to Ebay (or maybe it does), but your theory definitely suits my personality. I strove for straight A’s in school, and I definitely appreciate positive feedback. I could probably admit that anything that “verifies” that “hey, this person is pretty ok!” makes me feel content.

Since eBay involves money and physically shipping items around, I don’t equate them myself. I guess I like getting lurve for a particular question or answer. It’s interesting to find how my ideas align with the crowd (or not). But I don’t care about the total. I would re-set mine to zero if I could. Yes I am aware of the zen option

Not particularly. But I do think that all of us are inclined to generalize from ourselves to others where we feel a kinship, and that can lead us into a false sense of commonality.

Or maybe I just think we’re so inclined because I think I am, and I’m falsely generalizing.

I lol’d at the zen option.

I have never bought or sold anything on Ebay. I would also question the relationship between lurve and positive feedback. Lurve is given fairly randomly, I think.

No.
I could care less about my lurve…but as an ebay seller, I do concern myself with my feedback rating.
