“Great Question” (1points)

my dad said, “fire-building and fire safety”
my mom said, “sewing and ironing”

is there anything you’ve found to be quite useful in life, or maybe something you’re working on right now?

Social skills, tolerance, listening skills, humility, empathy, money management. Skills that aren’t taught in school but become a source of struggle for many.

@Carly What do you mean “better” a person? Psychologically ..socially, economically..etc?

linguaphile's avatar

The ability to know when they’re being faced with BS, the judgement to determine whether it’s worth addressing, and the dignity to address it appropriately.
To paraphrase Mark Twain, I think, the ability to get mad at the right time, in the right place, in the right manner and for the right reason.

When young, it would have been more helpful to have a more global education when it came to language, geography, history, politics, sex and religion. While my mind is still in a state where it can learn, it is much more of a struggle.

I think you should try different things and find out what you “personally” can become Passionate about. What makes a master of an art or skill? The high amount of “willingness” to become the Best there is, learning and getting the Basics in cold, and Practice, Practice, and more Practice.

@Carly Ahh thank you.

Hmm I think these would be useful to master in:

First Aid.
Cooking.
Reading/Writing.
Money management.
Social skills/Life skills.
Wilderness Survival.
Parenting (if one wants to be, or is, a parent).
Environment and Wildlife conservation.
