I live in Florida and have many, many Canadian friends. They only live here six months out of the year. They all love it here. Most are retired, but a few still work and have jobs that allow them to work from home. In all honesty, the biggest complaints I’ve heard are that they have to leave our lower paradise and head back North after their six months is up. I imagine the circumstances are different though @Jude because of the ages.
My husband is from Northern New York about 13 miles from Canada. He grew up going to Canada like we go to another town here in the US. He has lots of friends who are Canadian who travel back and forth without any complaints. If it wasn’t for the border, I don’t guess you’d know they weren’t all from the same town.
My son-in-law is Canadian and lives in Maryland now and loves it here. He lives on the Bay and said the winters are much nicer. He has a job with decent health insurance so that isn’t an issue. He has a 12 year old son who aspires to be a hockey star. They fish and play hockey and fish and play hockey, fish and play hockey. The drive to Canada often to visit family. He’s adapted and I’ve never heard him complain about anything except politics.
