What odd items do you grab to scratch your back?

“Great Question” (7points)

What do you grab when no one else is around to scratch for you?

I hate to admit it, but a fork will do wonders.

Has anyone here ever owned one of the back scratchers shaped as a hand? I remember my dad having one. I loved that thing.

I’m 6’ and 135 pounds with long arms. I can scratch any itch with my twiggishness.

Pen, the sharp corner of a wall, chopstick, a steak-knife.

I have a couple of those long hand shaped ones. If I need to, I’ll use the edge of a wall or door frame. I’ve also used my hair brush, rulers, those funny shaped pasta spoons, pens ..etc. If the items reaches the scratch, I’ll most likely use it.

I’m sitting here scratching my back with a fork, being very envious of @johnpowell ;)

This question combined with finding the tick on my dog earlier is making me itch like crazy.

I read your response and grabbed my fork again. wtf? @ANef_is_Enuf.

A broken off metal broom handle.

An empty paper towel roll.

A coat hanger.

@jonsblond Oh no! It’s a tick!

@jonsblond Really want to dance around in an itchy frenzy? add lice and fleas to ticks… :D

I just rub my back against the end of a door while holding it with my hands, or on two wall endings that make an edge. I’m a savage. But it works.

I used to have a back scratcher before, it was so awesome that I scratched my back with it even when it didn’t itch. It was like fuckin drugs, man.

Doesn’t Brookstone have something for this?
@jonsblond I just got a mosquito bite 2 mins ago… take them back!

Friggin’ mosquitoes! Gahhhh! Die!!! I’ve got nine bites on my body at the moment.

I used the corner of a brick wall to scratch my back tonight. I forgot about my sunburn.

talk about pain. ugh!

Same as @johnpowell 6’, though not nearly as skinny. I am however plenty flexible enough to scratch any spot on my back. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the reach to scratch it all without implements.

Oh, implements. Well I suppose that answers what I would do . . .

Most often, I contort myself and can reach most of the spots that itch. Of course, it’s those few little spots I can’t reach that will itch like crazy! I use the corner of the wood planked wall in my kitchen, door frames, the square thingy on the top of my stair newel posts, my brush (heaven!), and even the shirt I’m wearing (I kind of grab it on the diagonal and use the hem to scratch).

I am now all itchy, too. Ack!

@Prosb :: I will add this. I do enjoy using something like a wooden claw to scratch my back for pleasure. It feels like someone else is doing it. Like masturbating with the other hand.

Nowt, I do as a bear does & scratch my back on a wall or door.
There are no trees in my home, so gotta make do.

I have a bamboo back scratcher. If I’m somewhere where it’s not, I’ll use the edge of a wall. Or a friend.

“You scratch my back…”

An angle grinder.
I don’t mess around

Usually mechanical pencils. In a pinch I have used a bonsai rake.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

Nothing because I can reach behind and all the way up my back with either arm. It’s kind of gross to watch but it feels sooooo good.

Big Foot….he’s like a 7’ tall loofah.

Prosb's avatar

@johnpowell I’m not one for tools, I like having the kind of control I get with my hands. However, I can clearly see the benefit of using one when you put it like that, hehe.

Hypocrisy_Central's avatar

Usually I can reach just about any part of my back with my hands, those few times I could not, I think I used a wooden ruler.

Mama_Cakes's avatar

Hair brush. And, when I get that sweet spot, my legs moves (like a dog).
