Dang it, I missed National Hot Dog Day on July 23
Why are they picking on the yummy Hot Dog?
Do you think the Hot Dog vendors near the Speedway are happy?
“A hot dog a day could send you to an early grave,” says PCRM nutrition education director Susan Levin, M.S., R.D. “Processed meats like hot dogs can increase your risk for diabetes, heart disease, and various types of cancer. Like cigarettes, hot dogs should come with a warning label that helps racing fans and other consumers understand the health risk.”
Like anything, it is all about moderation and making good nutritional choices. Processed meats are not a smart choice.
Sensationalizing fears like this is not a responsible way to raise awareness to Cancer in my mind. I suppose there is an argument that if it helps one person make a smarter choice then it did it’s job.
Who on earth would eat a Hot dog a day? My father for one! I dig him on it always.
To answer you OP:
Yes, I eat one on occasion, but not as a meal choice. It was simply laying there on the grilled food platter with those soulful eyes.
The ad will not change my eating habits.
Do race car fans read billboards? Dunno, but if they had Danica Patrick doing something with the Hot Dog, it would sure grab better attention.
How effective? I am still stuck on the Danica Patrick image…........
