I think most of them don’t. It’s only the ones that do that you hear about in the news.
I know me and the fans of The Nanny wanted to think that Fran Drescher and Charles Shaugnessy would actually get together and get married. But Charlie is happily married with kids and Fran was married to the producer of that show, Peter Marc Jacobson, at the time, until he came out as gay. They got divorced, but have remained friends ever since. In fact, Peter Marc Jacobson is producing Fran’s current TV show (on TV Land) called Happily Divorced, which is loosely based on their lives. It’s about a married couple trying to move forward with their lives after the husband announces he’s gay. They still love each other, and live together (on the TV show, I mean) because the economy is too weak for either one of them to move out, but their love has turned into a happy friendship instead of a spousal type of love. Very sweet funny show.
Turns out that Charlie is supposed to guest star on the show for the season finale! Yea!
I would think that actors would have a difficult time resisting their attractive co-stars, especially if they had to be in close, intimate siutations with them all the time. Even if they weren’t kissing in every scene (which Fran and Charlie did a lot of during The Nanny) just the fact that they spend more time with each other than they do with their real mates, puts them in a vulnerable position.
Same thing that goes for men and women co-workers in other high pressue long hour jobs in which they find themselves thrown together for hours on end, day after day. That’s how office romances start.
