You can’t. When Facebook techs and execs make these changes, they force them on us “for our own good.” No amount of complaints has ever gotten a Facebook update reversed.

Are you talking about the new chat feature where there is a sidebar on the right side of the browser window? If so, just click “Hide sidebar” it’s the button on the very bottom right corner of the window.
